Sony Packs A Punch At E3

The battle of the gaming titans got a little hotter today at E3 in Los Angeles as Sony unveiled its 80 GB Playstation 3, at a price point of $399. The units will hit the market this September. This is Sony's retort to Microsoft's 80 GB Xbox which the company showcased on Sunday.

An equally powerful punch came when Sony announced that PlaystationStore is now selling downloadable video for PS3 and PSP. 20th Century Fox, Lionsgate Entertainment, MGM Studios, Paramount Pictures, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Warner Bros. Entertainment are among the giants lending their content to Sony's impressively-sized library.

Sony's adherence to Marlin Digital Rights Management might ease up some of the frustration consumers experience when dealing with protected content.
