iPhone Gives Apple Numbers to Boast About

Word is that the cost a of manufacturing the second generation iPhone is down to about $173. But the subsidies will be around $300 per unit, giving Apple somewhere in the neighborhood of $499 per phone, same as it was with the first generation. See Computerworld for more info.
